Last minute prayer at Heartland... please come!

As many of you know, I just got back from a 4 week trip to Zimbabwe, Africa. I have always known the call of God on my life concerning Africa. I have been patiently waiting on the Lord for many years, letting Him pave the way for me to go. This trip is a testimony of what the Lord can do when you wait on Him! I know this is very short notice, but…

I have been given the opportunity to speak at Heartland Assembly of God this Sunday morning about my trip. It will be a short testimony, but it will be my last Sunday here for quite some time. (Service starts at 10 am.) Pastor Dave (of Heartland) will be praying over me and sending me off. I am leaving this Wednesday to visit my family in Connecticut before I go back to Zim. I will most likely be leaving from Connecticut to back to Zim in August.

The Lord spoke some things to me very clearly before I went on this trip about what He will accomplish in Zimbabwe. So, it is no surprise to me that the Lord is calling me to a longer stay in Zimbabwe, nor is it a surprise to my friends or family. My initial stay there will be six months to one year. I know He will open many more doors for me as I step out in faith in this move.

I invite you to follow along on my journey as I pursue the call of the Lord. I will post what the Lord is doing through my life on my blog at http://songsofheaven.blogspot.com. You can receive my blogs automatically by filling out the subscribe box on my blog page.

I would be honored if you would partner with me in prayer! If you feel the Lord leading you to pray for me during my trip, please let me know! Also, if you feel led to sow into my time in Africa, email me at songsofheaven@gmail.com. I will be having a fundraiser for my trip at the church today. I brought home some canvas paintings and other small trinkets that are all made by Zimbabwean’s. It will all be for sale, and everything collected will go towards my trip.

If you do not want to be on my email list, please let me know. The last thing I want to do is email someone who does not want my updates! Thank you for taking the time to read my email and I hope to hear from you soon!

May the Lord took to you and bless you and make His face shine upon you!
Love,
Amy

Iowa Sunset

I was really loving tonight. It was such a beautiful sunset! It wasn't too hot. It wasn't too cold... just right temperature...

It has been raining in Iowa a lot lately and this field is flooded. Even though this water isn't supposed to be there, it makes for nice pictures!

Zimbabwe Trip

I have the privilege of sharing at KHOP 7 PM (CST) tonight about my trip and I am also privileged to lead worship too. (KHOP is the kingdom house of prayer). The message will be downloadable from their website within the next few days if you want to hear more about my trip.

I will be taking the next few weeks to write out some of the stories from my trip as I get ready to go back. YES, I am going back to Zimbabwe for a much longer stay than my first trip. I hope to go back by mid August.

Father, thank you for the leading of the Holy Spirit... May the words I speak tonight glorify the name of your Son.

This is at the Lion and Cheetah park that I went to visit. They have such huge boulders here!

I took a small trip to a town called Norton. Along the way, the were installing new phone lines. The trench they were digging was all manual labor...

This is the Chimombe family. Marshall, Emma, Connie (she helps out with the kids and cooking), and the kids are Rudaviro (Ruda for short. Her name means Faith), Daniel, and Mukundi (which means Overcomer or Victorious one). I have so fallen in love with this family! Their house was broken into last year by armed robbers intending to kill them... I can't wait to tell you their testimony!

I went to the Lion and Cheetah park and we got to play with 9 month old lion cubs. They have some serious claws... This is Gabriel in the picture with me. He is a volunteer photographer for the Celebration church.

Bad Internet

I have been out and about for the last few days and that means that I do not have internet access. It isn't really a good idea to drag my computer around all over with me and so I haven't even had a chance yet to record what I've been up to. All I know is that the next 6 days are packed with meetings and work and fellowship. It is going to go by so fast. I have hundreds of pictures. I'll tell you all about it when I get home!!!!

I woke up a few days ago feeling very cold and have been sick since. It gets cold at night and the houses here do not have heat. I have not been warm enough and I didn't bring enough warm clothes with me. I appreciate all you who are praying for me. I need strength to finish out this week. Thank you Lord for your healing!

I plucked a chicken with Caroline and Toko!
